Manchester_Police_large.jpgA press briefing highlighting the REACT initiative was held on January 8, 2014 in Manchester, CT. REACT is an innovative program to reduce and address the trauma and stress placed on children when a parent is arrested. CHDI, Manchester Police and CHR (Community Health Resources) have collaborated to implement the REACT initiative in Manchester. The REACT model was developed by researchers at the Child Health and Development Institute of Connecticut and is funded by the Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy at Central Connecticut State University. Statewide partners include the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and the Connecticut Alliance to Benefit Law Enforcement (CABLE).
