DCF Article - Advancing Trauma Informed Practice in CT

The story of an 11 year old boy named Tony and his recovery from trauma illustrates how Connecticut is changing the landscape of providing effective trauma-informed care for children. His story is told through a recent article by Robert Plant and Janice Gruendel of DCF. www.ct.gov/dcf/cwp/view.asp

Last October, DCF was one of five states awarded a $3.2 million federal grant to improve and grow the state's ability to identify and care for child trauma victims. Called the Connecticut Collaborative on Effective Practices for Trauma (CONCEPT), this 5 year initiative is a partnership between DCF, CHDI and Yale University. The CT Center for Effective Practice at CHDI is the Coordinating Center for the initiative.
