CHDI has a long history of working to ensure children are off to a healthy start by integrating early childhood health and mental health into settings where young children live, learn and play. Research has clearly documented the importance of social-emotional health in the first years of life as the grounding for lifelong well-being.
Currently, we are working to address the needs of young children and families who have experienced trauma. We are also working to develop stronger child-serving systems to support and address the behavioral health needs of children, youth, and families.
