Educating Practices In the Community (EPIC) is CHDI’s training initiative to inform pediatricians and their staff about critical children’s health issues – right in the comfort of their own offices.
Two new EPIC modules have been developed that address infant mental health as well as maternal depression. The modules help providers promote social emotional development, identify concerns, implement formal screening procedures and connect families to services.
Maintenance of Certification will be offered to those pediatric providers who complete these training modules and want to participate in a quality improvement initiative related to Infant Mental Health and Maternal Depression. CME credits are also available for all EPIC trainings.
The Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) is a not-for-profit organization established to improve the health and well-being of children so they can grow up healthy and thrive. CHDI advances effective, integrated health and behavioral health systems, practices, and policies that result in equitable and optimal health and well-being for children, youth, and families. We work in partnership with providers, policymakers, academic institutions, and state agencies in Connecticut to identify, demonstrate, support, and promote evidence-based treatments and innovations that will result in sustainable change.
