Behavioral Health Screening

Failure to identify and address the behavioral health needs of children at the earliest possible time can lead to exacerbated health and mental health conditions later in childhood and adolescence. The pediatric primary care office is an ideal setting for universal behavioral health screening, allowing for earlier identification of children with treatment needs and at risk of serious mental health problems.

This training supports providers in incorporating behavioral health screening into routine primary care practice and provides options for responding to behavioral health concerns identified through screening. Strategies for addressing health equity and delivering culturally sensitive care are also included.

Practices receive:

  • Validated screening tools
  • Resources and/or referral information
  • Billing codes
  • 1 CME credit
  • Meal during the training
