Marlene Gomez joined CHDI in May 2023 as a Project Coordinator working on both the Connecting to Care (CONNECT) initiative and the school-Based Diversion Initiative (SBDI) with the goal of implementing the youth and family voice into systems.


Before joining CHDI, Marlene worked as a Parent Counselor at Klingberg’s Child and Adolescent Trauma Services Program, educating parents on trauma-informed parenting and supporting families in crisis. Marlene also helped families navigate the criminal justice, court, and school systems at Klingberg’s Child Advocacy Center. Marlene has contributed to countless Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings across the state, partnering with Child Protective Services through DCF and the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Police Departments, and other providers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University.
