About CHDI

Overview

A BRIDGE TO BETTER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

The Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) improves the behavioral health and well-being of children, youth, and families in Connecticut and beyond.

Our goal is to advance effective and innovative system, practice, and policy solutions that result in equitable and optimal behavioral health and well-being for children, youth, and families in Connecticut and beyond.

We accomplish this through research, evaluation, training and technical assistance, and demonstration projects that inform system change.

Together with our partners, CHDI:

  • Strengthens SystemsWe collaborate to deliver innovations that improve the accessibility, effectiveness, and equity of Connecticut’s child-serving systems.
  • Improves PracticeWe work with state agencies and providers to identify and disseminate evidence-based behavioral health treatments and best practice improvements that result in equitable and optimal care for children and families.
  • Reforms Policy: We analyze and advance policies that reflect the best of what science and experience teaches us.

CHDI works in close partnership with the policymakers, providers, educators, and partners to achieve our goals.
