Jeff Vanderploeg interviewed for CT Insider article highlighting funding needs of behavioral health services

CHDI President and CEO Jeff Vanderploeg, PhD was interviewed for a February 14 CT Insider article, "Mental health and homeless services at risk in Connecticut as funds run out." He discussed the need to continue funding the state's youth crisis services, including mobile crisis and the new Urgent Crisis Centers, before federal funds expire.
"These funds really help not just to offer 24/7/365 accessibility but also to shore up staffing across all hours of availability," Vanderploeg is quoted as saying in the article. "Mobile crisis really plays a lot of functions within the system, and investing it makes a lot of good sense."
Colleagues from the United Way of Connecticut and Wellmore Behavioral Health - with whom Dr. Vanderploeg co-authored a recent Policy Brief on this issue - were also interviewed for the piece.
