CHDI Associate Vice President of School and Community Initiatives, Jeana Bracey, PhD, was quoted in a recent Connecticut Public News Service article on the impact of staffing shortages among community-based behavioral health providers on schools and their students.
"Sometimes those additional services might have a waitlist or maybe they're not readily available closest to that student's home in their local community," Bracey says. "You have students who then need to travel outside of their community to get services, which can be a burden on the family."
