School-Based Diversion Initiative (SBDI)

On March 13th Jeana Bracey presented the work of the Connecticut School-Based Diversion Initiative (SBDI) as part of a plenary presentation titled "Connecticut's Comprehensive Approach to Reducing In-School Arrests: Changes in Statewide Policy, Systems Coordination and School Practices." The plenary addressed an audience of 300 judges, educators, policymakers, and researchers representing all 50 states at the National Leadership Summit on School-Justice Partnerships in New York. The presentation was based on a manuscript published by the School-Justice Summit organizers to inform the work of Summit participants with respect to keeping kids in school and out of courts.
