EARLY HEALTH FOR SCHOOL READINESS

CHDI promotes early childhood health as an integral part of school readiness.

No child should arrive at kindergarten with an unidentified and unaddressed health or developmental concern.

Health promotion, safety, disease prevention, and early identification and treatment during these earliest years lay the foundation for healthy development. This decreases the need for costly and ineffective interventions later in life.

Most of our work in early childhood health supports the integration of health and mental health care in settings where young children are served, primarily in pediatric practices and in early care and education settings.

We strive to achieve sustainable improvements in these settings by developing comprehensive systems and initiatives. Contact us or explore the initiatives below to learn more.
